Question by Somebody Loves You: I have a L shape glass desk how can I use Feng Shui in my home office?
I know L shape desk are not a good idea for feng shui, but I need to know what I can do to cure it and getting rid of it is not a solution. Please only answer question if you know a great deal about Feng Shui.

There are a few ways you can remedy the glass desk top. There are cork squares that you can buy at home improvement stores. They are about 12″x12″ and can be cut easily to fit. There is a tape strip on the back of the squares so that they can be adhered to the surface. You could do all or part of the desk.

You can cover it with a piece of natural fabric like cotton and adhere it to the surface with double stick tape.

You can cover the part where you work with a desk pad which is usually made from cardboard and a faux leather (not a natural product) but you may be able to search for one with cork or wood. The part of the desk that is not covered with the desk pad you can soften with small plants, rocks, wood or other natural product.

What you need to do is soften the corners (I’m assuming there are sharp corners on the desk. Plants such as ivy that hang down over the side of the pot can be placed in the corner so that it hangs over the side of the desk taking the sharpness (arrows) out. You can place a piece of fabric on a corner and hang it over the side. On top of the fabric put some pretty rounded stones on it to keep it from sliding.

Softening the corners is the key here. Good luck!

Yeah basically want to know what are the most auspicious colors and elements as well as decorations, I should use for my home office located at the south corner of my house, the office is a room located in a garden-level basement with nothing other than a door & 2 windows. Thanks.

You need to start with the front door, and look at a bagua map. From what I learned, it is to really work in something that feels right for you. Being clutter free, organized, and able to move freely throughout your room is more important than specific colors. Feng shui is more of an art than an exact science.

Question by amd: Help Feng Shui my home office?
I’ve just moved into a new home office. I’d like any general feng shui advice, and I have a specific question too.

I have a picture of a lighthouse and calm sea that I’d like to hang on one of the walls. Where’s the best place for this picture with water in it?

General question: does anyone have any other advice on the layout? I’ve taken care not to have my back to door or window. Anything else?

I started an internet marketing business about 8 months ago – see link for details.

It may be difficult to change the orientation of the door (as I do not own the house), but I will see if it’s possible.

water goes on the wall with the entrance, in the middle of the wall.

the fame area is in the middle of the wall opposite the entrance wall. the color is red and the shape is triangular or pointed (think volcano or fire) this area also deals with the eyes.

the area that deals with the head is helpful people and travel which is located on the entrance wall on the right; colors are gray, black and white.

keep yourself grounded with the family area of the office. located on the left wall (as you walk into the office) in the middle of the wall the color is green; element is wood; shape is rectangular, columnar, or vertical.
