Question by rhayshelle: Anyone else confused on compass and feng shui door entrance?
I’m confused on compass readings. If I’m standing in doorway facing the front yard and it says I’m facing South with the North behind me, does that mean I’m standing in the South room at my entrance which would be the fame area? Other things I see say that the front door is always considered the North so I’m confused. Which is it?

i think this is a misunderstanding about compass and feng shui.
in china, why they care about the north and south ? because of the sun lights and wind.
china is located in north part of the planet. so the house placed in north and faces to south will get most of the sun lights in winter. and also this will avoid the cold north-west wind.

so what you care is if your room get most of the sun lights through the year? if your room can receive the warm wind and avoid the cold wind

that’s my thoughts.

Compass reading is to identify the sit and face direction of your property. Having this location, you can use it for date selection or Fengshui allocation. This is done by standing in front of your main door facing outward to your yard. the compass needle pointing forward is the facing, and backward is the sitting of your property.

If you are finding sectors of your house, then you must stand in the centre of your whole house to take direction. Drawing 9 grid lines over the whole area of your floorplan (Used in flying star chart) You will be able to allocate the directional sectors of every corner of your house by taking your direction in the middle point of your whole property. Each sector share the same proportion of area within the 9 grid lines.
